For centuries bamboo has been used in Asia for multiple purposes.
Bamboo grows extremely fast, is very solid, substantial and
sturdy and therefore widely used and popular. In Asian countries
bamboo is utilized for example for foodstuffs and as a building
material. It is estimatedthat approx. 15-20 billion people
use bamboo products regularly.
Ever since it became known that a bamboo cane can be used
to produce a whole new generation of decorating products,
bamboo made its way into interior design.
Nowadays flooring floors, solid wooden panels and veneer arel
available for interior decorating.
The success story of bamboo in Europe is closely linked to
the Dutch Bamboo Information Center (BIC) www.bamboe-ic.nl
since its founder, Charley Younge is regarded as the Bamboo
Pioneer of modern bamboo decorating products in Europe.
Since the seventies the founder of the largest Bamboo Center
in Northwest Europe, Charley Younge, is engaged with bamboo
and won a reputation worldwide for his knowledge about the
bamboo plant and its development (e.g. honarary member of
the World Bamboo Organisation www.world-bamboo.org)
In 1993 Charley Younge started to sell bamboo flooring in Europe
under the trademark of PLYBOO® which
he himself developed. 3 years earlier, the first bamboo flooring
in Europe had already been laid, which is still, to their
full satisfaction today, in the home of the Younge family
in Schellinkhout (NL). Nowadays the Bamboo Information Centre
develops and sells decoration products in direct collaboration
with the leading production companies in Asia for the demands
of the western society.
An important part of the company´s philosophy is the
social and ecological responsibility towards humans and nature,
that determines all stages of product development and production
process and is illustrated in the open relations with our
business partners.

offers a full range of bamboo floorings (solid panels, solid
strip flooring, 2-layer flooring, engineered flooring with tongue
and groove or Berry Loc System as well as industrial flooring
in various surface designs) for glued or floating floor installation.
Our range is completed by a selection of panel materials up
to 40 mm thick e.g. for staircases or work tops in domestic,
office and industrial areas.
We also regard ourselves as the competent partner of the industry
for the production of interior furnishings produced with bamboo,
as well as doors and steps made to your requirements.
